TOP 5: TOOLS FOR SOCIAL MEDIA

Social media should be an integral part of your marketing strategy. However, when trying to build a business, with all that it entails, having to stay on top of social media as well, can be a bit daunting. Luckily there are some great tools for social media out there that can help you to stay on top of things.

Hootsuite

You’ve probably already heard of Hootsuite and maybe you’re already using it? If not we’d strongly recommend it. Hootsuite lets you manage several social media streams. Amongst other things Hootsuite lets you schedule posts, track re-tweets, clicks and comments. As a social media tool Hootsuite is especially helpful if you have more than one person managing your social media accounts.

BuzzSumo

BuzzSumo lets you see what content is trending online right now. You can simply enter in a keyword and BuzzSumo provides you with a list of articles relating to this topic and then gives you the social share stats. Using BuzzSumo helps you understand what your audience is talking about and what is currently happening in the social media sphere that you ought to be responding to.

RiteTag

Hashtags are an important part of your social media presence. Using hashtags is your way of letting users on various social media know that you are talking about what they are interested in. But how can you make sure that the hash-tags you are using have any traction? RiteTag let’s you search for different hashtags and tells you just how popular this particular hash-tag is. It’s a great tool for making sure that you are in on the conversations going on at the moment.

Google Trends

Another way of making sure you are part of the wider conversation is turning to Google Trends. Here you can get an overview of what is currently trending on Google. What are people searching for? Where are people searching from? And what is the most popular search term where you are right now.

Google Analytics

In your Acquisition report on Google Analytics you can see where your audience is coming from, but even more importantly how your audience acquired through social media has behaved on your site. This is a great tool to see if your social media efforts are giving you the results you were aiming for, and to get an indication of what might need to change if the results aren’t what you hoped.
